Booking Terms & Conditions

Reception Hours

Our reception hours for October to March are 9:00am to 8:00pm and April to September is 9:00am to 6:00pm. Our reception hours may vary slightly. If you intend to arrive after reception closes please contact us during reception hours to arrange alternative check in arrangements. To avoid disruption to our existing guests, we do not allow campervan/caravan/camping arrivals into our park after 10pm. We are closed on Christmas Day.

Check In & Out Times

Check in is from 1:00pm and check out is by 10:00am. Early check in and late check out may be available by prior arrangement and may incur an additional fee.

Credit Card Payment

A transaction fee of 2% applies when paying by Visa or Mastercard, and this transaction fee is charged for all payments including online, over the phone and at the park. Amex is not accepted at our park. A transaction fee is added to any purchases paid by payWave.


There are three levels of rates available depending on how far you are booking in advance, your preferred payment timing and cancellation terms. Please refer to the terms of each when placing your booking. We reserve the right to alter rates without notice. Rates may change depending on availability and can vary between seasons, and for events.

Site or Room Selection

We understand the importance of staying close to your friends or choosing a specific site/room during your stay.  If you wish to have a "Locked - Do not move" arrangement to secure a specific location please note that a site selection/lock fee of $2.00 per day will apply to your reservation.

Minimum Stay

Minimum stay periods may apply to weekends, public holidays, long weekends and other events. If a minimum stay period is showing online please call us to check availability as sometimes a spot may open up for a shorter period due to cancellation which is inaccessible online.

Child Ages

Infants are aged under 2 years old, child ages are from 2 to 14 years inclusive.

Booking Age

We reserve the right to refuse a reservation at any time if we consider a person may be:

  • Younger than 18 years old and not accompanied by a responsible adult aged 18 or over.
  • Likely to cause damage to property belonging to the park or other guests
  • Displaying socially unacceptable or non family friendly behaviour

Group Bookings

For group bookings one person will be designated as the ultimate responsible party for the groups behaviour and any potential damages caused

Privacy Policy

We will collect your personal information in order to assist you with your booking enquiry or to place a booking. As part of our booking process you will be invited to create a login to manage your booking, and you will be able to login, review and update your personal information.

Your personal information is stored in a password protected system and only authorised team members can access this. Your personal information is never shared outside the company without your persmission, except if required to do so by law or in the belief that we need to comply with a legal process served on the Rakaia River Holiday Park, or to protet the rights and property of the Rakaia River Holiday Park, or to act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of yourself, other guests, staff, visitors, property and systems of the Rakaia River Holiday Park.

As part of our interaction with you, you may receive information from us about our park, specials or other promotions. You can unsubscribe from these communications at any time.


Booking Cancellation & Refund Policy

The cancellation policy differs depending on the type of rate you have booked. The rate type is shown on your booking confirmation.

Non Refundable Rate – This rate is non refundable

Standard Rate – Full refund or change up to 7 days before your arrival, thereafter non refundable. Any change may incur an extra charge if the same rate is not available when re-booking.

Flexible Rate – Full refund or change up to 1pm on the day before your arrival, thereafter non refundable. The change may incur an extra charge if the same rate is not available when re-booking.

If you need to cancel due to COVID-19 or other illnesses, the cancellation policy applies as per your rate type booked.

We recommend you purchase travel insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

All cancellations must be received in writing by text, email, or contact form on our website.

If you have booked through a third party site please refer to your booking confirmation email for the cancellation terms that apply to your booking.

No refunds will be given to guests checking out of the park early, including due to weather disruptions.

Refunds will be processed according to the original form of payment received. Due to scams, we cannot process a refund to a different credit card than was used on the original payment without written approval from your bank advising of the change of credit card number etc.
